The 13th World Chambers of Commerce Round Table wrapped up yesterday at the Xiamen International Conference Center. The event focused on business innovation and cross-border cooperation in the electronic commerce era.

Officials from numerous foreign governments worked together to conduct the conference. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Organizing Committee of CIFIT, U.K. Trade and Investment (UKTI) and the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) co-sponsored the event.

Confronting the cross-border e-commerce trend, business elites from home and abroad put forward their insights at the conference.

Yu Xiaodong, the assistant secretary-general of CCPIT, stressed the development of online commerce as a new strategic industry. He also pointed out that electronic commerce in China can benefit by learning from international best practices through partnerships and international cooperation.

Stephen Phillips, the CEO of China-Britain Business Council, stated that Britain looks forward to cooperating with China in the e-commerce industry, and said that British enterprises and branded products are well positioned to enter the Chinese market.
